About Me

Hi, I'm Penny. I've had jobs where the money was good — and long seasons where I had absolutely no idea how the bills were going to get paid. For most of my adult life, I lived paycheck to paycheck. There were times I'd lie awake at night not knowing where the money was coming from, and all I could do was pray and trust God to come through. Somehow, He always did.

But through those hard seasons, I learned something that changed everything for me: I had to get intentional. I started writing things down. Making budgets. Actually tracking where every dollar was going. And I started studying what the Bible truly says about money — and it transformed how I see it entirely. Solomon wasn't wealthy by accident. He was wise. And wisdom with money is something anyone can learn, at any age.

I created this workbook because I've lived this struggle. I'm a small-town girl at heart, a mom of three grown kids, and a grandma to nine precious grandchildren. I'm not a financial expert with letters behind my name — I'm someone who figured it out the hard way, through faith, prayer, and a lot of lessons learned. I created Prospering Roots because I genuinely want to help people grow — in their faith and in their finances — from the ground up.

If you've ever felt like money is a mystery you just can't crack, I want you to know: I've been right there with you. And there's a way forward.
